How to Check BECE Results Online

BECE results are checked at eresults.waecgh.org. This is a separate site from the one WASSCE uses, and the codes don't cross over: a BECE checker won't work on the WASSCE site, and a WASSCE checker won't work here.

Landing on the wrong site is the most common mistake parents make on results day. Bookmark the address above before you need it.

What you need before you start

Checking a BECE result, step by step

   Go to eresults.waecgh.org

   Any standard mobile or desktop browser works. No app to install.

   Enter the index number, then enter it again to confirm

   WAEC's form asks for the index number twice so a mistyped digit gets caught early. Both entries need to match exactly.

   Select the exam type

   BECE School if the candidate sat the exam through a Junior High School. BECE Private for a private candidate. This choice decides whether the form asks for a date of birth next.

   Choose the exam year

   The year the exam was actually sat.

   Enter the serial number and 12-digit PIN

   Type them exactly as they arrived by SMS.

   Submit and wait

   On a slow connection, the result can take a moment to load. Don't submit again while it's still processing. That risks spending a second attempt on what's really just a slow page.

Why the double index-number entry trips people up

It looks redundant the first time you see it. But a single wrong digit in an index number doesn't always produce an obvious error. It can match a different, valid-looking record instead, which is far more confusing than a plain "invalid" message.

Type the index number twice from memory rather than copying and pasting it. Pasting the same mistake twice defeats the whole point of the check.

Subjects marked withheld or cancelled

Sometimes a result shows one or more subjects withheld, or the entire result withheld, while WAEC investigates a suspected exam irregularity. This decision sits entirely with WAEC. A reseller or checking site has no visibility into it and can't influence it.

Checking again won't change the status. WAEC usually publishes its own timeline for resolving these cases, and that's the source to follow, not a third-party site.

What comes after your BECE result

For most BECE candidates, the result isn't the final step. It feeds directly into Senior High School placement through CSSPS, the Ghana Education Service's placement system. Your BECE performance and the schools you selected earlier decide where you're placed.
